Default Re: Help !!! Low On Resources

There are lot of solutions you can try.

First check via Task manager which process is using more CPU usage and RAM.

Also check your startup processes using Hijackthis. If possible post Hijackthis log because it will show all startup processes.

Uninstall any software which you think you do not need.

Also disable some services by running services.msc in Start>>Run and disable some common services like MDM(installed by office), Application layer Gateway, Error reporting service, Fast user switching(If you don't use it), Indexing service(it helps a lot), Messenger(don't worry its not the MSN messenger but the Windows Messenger), Remote Registry(highly unsafe), Windows Firewall(if you have installed 3rd party firewall like ZoneAlarm) and Windows Time services.

Defragment all your hard drives.

Use CCleaner to clean all junk files. Even if you don't have it empty these folders:

C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp
C:\Windows\Prefetch
