problem in shutdown

yes'tr day whn i send the pc to stand by mode a deep blue screen apear and says something like this " an error has occer during shutdown restart the computer and run a system diagnosis tool and check for mismatch of memory"
something more was written there but i dont remember all, writing colors are whight in deep blue screen, thn i restart the pc and till then it never happens,
there is also a problem of restarting, ie not every time but once every 2 to 3 days comp restart automatically.
what is a system diagnosis tool, is it a kind of software? is there any free version of that is available?

This happens a lot if use Windows 98. The frequency is drastically reduced on Windows XP, but still you see them occasionally.

The only help I can offer to you now is to get a mac.

If you want to stick with Windows, then the next time you see a BSOD, write down the code of the BSOD and post it here. That's the only way anyone can solve your problem.

benchmark of ur system. It can analyze and benchmark ur machine hardware such as ur CPU performance, main board information, hard disk performance and much more..

BSOD's just an annoying error message with a scary look to it.

Your RAM may be corrupt.. But it might not be the case.. If this does not come up again, don't bother. But if it does, check your ram with memtest and change if errors are found..

If you get it again, re-install the operating system.

That's standard procedure.

Apply the latest updates! AFAIK, automatic restart can also occur due to overheating. So I suggest u clean the internals of ur PC with a vaccuum cleaner and a dry cloth!
