Default Re: Internetworking TWO VISTA PCS...

its very simple , just plug the cross-over cable in both PC's (in case of two pcs)

and then right click on the Network icon near CLOCK in taskbar and click on the last option of opening the networking control panel or (something like that)

then click on new netwrok.. and enable network discovery... do it in both PC's and then click on connect to ... and you are done... *vista self_configures all the things...

shantanu_webmaster.....u rock man...its damn easy in vista....u don't even need to assign IPs...Here's the step by procedure....

1.] First make sure that you have given a password to your administrator accounts of both the pcs......2.] Plug in the cross cable...3.] Networking Comp would come near the clock in task bar...4.] Right click over it and click "Networking and Sharing Centre"...5.] A window would pop up, click "View computers and devices" (on left hand side)....6.] Bang!!!!! you are done your other pc would be visible in "NETWORK" section.....7.] Don't forget to share the partions which you want to see across the NETWORK....8.] Just right click over the PARTION and click "share".....Go to "Advanced Settings" and share the parition.....also set the permissions in case you want to....ENJOY...........
