i had installed norton antivirus trial version. i later removed it forcibly thorugh your unistaller! as something was going wrong with the uninstallation. now evn though i have removed norton still, it' processes
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AppCore\AppSvc32.exe
C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exe

You can go to safe mode and delete the problematic files/folders and remove entries in the startup with msconfig... You might want to run a registry cleaner tool to remove broken entries...

Just download Norton Removal Tool

This tool uninstalls all Norton 2006/2005/2004/2003 products from your computer.
