Default CheckDisk running during starup

Hi All,

In Recent times my PC do checkdisk each time when I start the PC.Even If i shutdown properly it appears again.Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue,since it keeps me irritating each time to see that screen.

Two or three times it got shutdown abruptly due to power failure.How to fix this.

I am running O&O disk defragment,Norton AV and an antispyware in the background

Any help would be appreciated.I have the latest virus updates for Norton AV and adware se,still the system response time is slow.Please help to solve this issue also

Thanks & Regards
Guhan

In Regedit.exe browse to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager
Look in right pane for BootExecute

The value data should normally be autocheck autochk *

If not edit it By double clicking on BootExecute and then changing the data so it does.

BUT KEEP A BACKUP FIRST;EDITING REGISTRY BY MAKING ERRORS MAY END UP WITH A NON BOOT CONDITION;

let it run once completely.

then try this :
run regedit
Edit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager
Change the BootExecute entry from:
autocheck autochk * /.........
To:
autocheck autochk *

or else try this :
Start> Run> bring up a command prompt by typing in "CMD" and type " fsutil dirty query g: ". This queries the drive, and more than likely it will tell you that it is dirty. Next, type "CHKNTFS /X G:". The X tells Windows to NOT check that particular drive (G) on the next reboot. At this time, manually reboot your computer, it should not do a Chkdsk and take you directly to Windows.

Once Windows has fully loaded, bring up another CMD prompt and type and now you want to do a Chkdsk manually by typing "Chkdsk /f /r g:". This should take you through 5 stages of the scan and will unset that dirty bit. Finally, type "fsutil dirty query g:" and Windows will confirm that the dirty bit is not set on that drive.
