guys i hv been facing this problem since day 1 ... i had outlook express configured for dwnlding all my mails from gmail the problem is that even the sent mail goes to the inbox now same is the case with office outlook 2k7 .... any tweak by which sent mail goes to sent box and not the inbox

i think ur trying to say that mail which u send form the web interface is getting downloaded into ur outlook and sticks into ur Inbox in outlook instead of going to ur sent items folder.
did i get it rite? well the same happens with me also.
try creating a rule in outlook. for all mails which come from your own ID sud goto ur sent items folder. there will be times whn u mite send something to ur own ID for backup and it goes to ur sent items folder ...but u can't help it

Most probably you would be having a copy of the mails in your sent items folder as well(So had I). The problem is that the messages that one sends using smtp in gmail are sent in the inbox as well. Till you find another solution , you can create a filter in gmail to delete all the mails that are sent from you to yourself. This should solve your problem

I have a similar type of problem, also while configuring gmail as default it just wiped out my outlook inbox, how could I retrive my mails? plsssssssss help.
