Desktop Wallpaper not get set or displayed(WindowsXP).

Hi,

I am unable to set the Wallpaper (background) in my Desktop(WindowsXP). The Desktop Tab in the Display Properties screen has many background options but its not getting selected or its not highlighted.

The Desktop Screen is just blank. Could anyone please provide a solution for this?
I tried setting background wallpaper through WEBSHOTS too…but still its not working..

Once I shutdown my PC during Shutdown process the Wallpaper gets displayed.

this is sure case of spyware.No need to worry dear,here is solution for you:
You need a tool called "Cleandesktop"..downlod it from here.

After Downloading follow the following steps:
1)When download the setup double click it and run the setup
2)The setup will automatically be extrated to c:/desktopclean (I suppose you have Xp installed in c:/ drive)
3)After you have completly run the setup,the program will automatically run.If it doesn't,than go to c:/desktopclean/ and run cleandesktop.vbs file.If you get error like "cannot find file path,just again click the file"
4)Ignore warning if you get anyone..and continue running the script.
5)Than it will perform some registry tweaks,and everything will go blank for few seconds.
6)Now select you fav wallpaper.

And after all,just do full system scan.Better do some online scan.

open regedit and nevigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop

and look if there following two keys exist:

NoChangingWallPaper
NoHTMLWallPaper

If exist, then delete them.

Now nevigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

And check if

NoActiveDesktop
NoActiveDesktopChanges

exist, if YES then delete them too.
Also do the same for "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT" key.
It should solve ur problem...
