Default antivirus solution


I had preinstalled norton 2006 in my lappy hpdv2117 now it is about to expire so which antivirus should I install?

also suggest firewall..

I also think Mcafee is not worth the money.
Use Avast! antivirus & Comodo firewall.

now dat u hv already wasted ur money on mcafee do not continue doing mistakes by keeping ur lappy (in)secure with it.
go 4 avg+zone alarm +adaware...dat shd b gud n dey all hv free versions

n dis is one heck of a combination:
nod32+zonealarm pro + ad-aware pro. though all of these r paid
bt do uninstall mcafee if ur a decent internet user

i'm using win2k3 web edition with sp2 installed. can anybody suggest a good freeware solution to protect my computer from any threat [or at least most of it]

Go for Avast antivirus, it is really good apart from being free for home users. the automatic update will update almost everyday and that's good.

but free version of avast 4.7 does not run on Win2k3. i installed the server edition dat is not free

-its free
-its skinnable-
its low on resources
-its simple to use
-its got many other services
-i use it



norton is not bad too but its a resource hog
