WMP 11 Hangs

Hi guys.
I'm facing a very irritating problem with Windows Media Player 11.
I use Windows XP SP2 with all the latest updates installed.
Whenever I open it's "Tools->Options" page & browse thru various settings, my computer hangs. And I have to restart the computer.
If use the player normally for playing music or movies, the player & Windows runs fine.
I have tried installing WMP 11 on 3 computers & in all of them, the player hangs on "Options" page.
I have even tried it on a freshly installed Windows XP SP2 but of no use.
I have even installed it's update but still no use.
The WMP 11 version I have is 11.0.5721.5145.
The problem was never there with WMP 9 or 10.
Kindly help.

Ok, now I know why it was hanging.
Apparently, my Windows is volume license based version.
And I used a Windows Key Changer to change the key so that I could install WMP11.
Here's where the problem started.
The key I used in key changer was either a OEM or retail key which don't work with Volume license based XP setup CD. And vice-versa.
So that was creating the problem.
A quick format, clean installation & the problem is gone.

I have an unbannable XP (OEM or retail) key too but not the setup files. You must be having an OEM or retail key which require OEM or retail setup files. I have volume license version setup files, but not OEM or retail ones. Their keys can't be run on other type of setup files than their own.

Ok, this was one of the reasons.
But the problem is till there.
But now WMP hangs whenever I open it's "Options" tab.
And it's also happening with WMP 10.

i pity the mods. seriously. this is the third thread you have bumped from over a year, and the third one im reporting.
