Default How to backup firefox

I am using Firefox 2.0 and higher, As i have a fragile pc so i can't say when it will crash, I use nlite now for backup . however due to faster processing of Firefox(especially for old pc owners like me) , i am used to it. however after a few weeks of working, downloading add ons, setting preferences , the computer crash (( How many days can a celeron 600 MHz,128 MB , 20 gb hd survive winXP )) and i have to start all over again . This is surely wastage of my alloted download limit ( In case of bsnl about 1 GB )

Is there any way i can take backup or save the settings in a way that i don't have to re download the apps and widgets
