everything is colored but the videos are black and white!!! :-(

Hi,

I recently fomatted my system and downloaded the latest Nvidia drivers for my display (v93.71). Now, everything is fully colored..the desktop..the games..evrything..but when i try to play any video, its black and white...can any suggest some solution to this problem??

check the player setting..or try on different player like Divx ,VLC player or any other.

i checked in every player..Windows Media..Media Player Classic..Divx PLayer..Winamp... (((((

Do one thing,download and install K-lit codec pack.Than post the result plz.
One thing more..have U installed any new goftware releted to display or video???

Reinstall all video codecs & ur graphics card driver...99% it will solve ur problems

Which Videos ?
I mean are all types of videos have this prolem.(VCD AVI MP4 ETC..ETC)
If this prob is with MPG codec
Then download Media player classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/)
Play an video
Click On drop down play on the menubar
navigate to filters
Select MPEG video decoder (Only visible if U are playing an MPG file)
Check weather "colour" is selected or not
Or
better download K-lite codec pack and install that

phewwww!!! finally able to fix it..had to re-install the codec pack and the display drivers. K-Lite didnt play WMV files so i had to switch to Ace Mega Codecs Pack...

K-lite is able to play WMV files!!
I guess U downloaded K like coDec pack It lacks some codecs
Download K-lite MEga codec pack

I think I was also using K-lite Codec pack.Thanks for K-lite mega codec pack download link.

some time back i saw the movie, Saving Private RYAN, only this movie was displayed Black & white, others were fine.. i just downloaded. windows Media codec package from
www.windowsmedia.com

and the problem was solved.. and yeah i too had PDVD 7 and it played the movie fine... with all colors
