in control panel adminstrative tools>computer managment
when i double click computer managment the following pop up opens..
and same is the case with hard drives...see the screenshot..
well hard disk can be opened by right click then open....but i want both problems to be solved
i guess the win 32 virus which was detected by anti-virus has infected .msc file extension or mmc.exe file...
i have removed the virus using kaspersky...

Tools>Folder Options>Untick Hide Protected Operating Files
+
Tools>Folder Options>Show hidden files and folders

Delete c:\autorun.inf
Delete d:\autorun.inf
Delete e:\autorun.inf
Delete f:\autorun.inf

One half of problem solved...

Can't figure out the other one though....

Does your mmc.exe run??
Try Start>Run>mmc and post

Try compmgmt.msc and if "Open With" appears, locate "WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe" and then select always open with this or something like that.... shud work...

Reply..

Downlad the zip attachments with this MSG
Extract the reg files
And merger them with your registery by double clicking them

It should work IF not try copying the file"mmc.exe" form some other P.C. and placing them in your system32 folder

For your drive problem Copy this code in a notepad
and save is as "drive.reg"
Then double click that file and merge it in your registery

Try folder hiding option by registery

typr->"regedit" in run box
Navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Advanced

To Show hidden files and folders set the value of "Hidden" as "1"
to Again Hide use "0"

To Hide protected operating systems files (Recommended) set the value of "SuperHidden" as "0"To show use "1"

I guess all these problem are accouring bcause of VIRUS INFECTION or a previous virus infection which is removed

Use A updated and good antivirus to scan your system
__________
For Your drive when the "openwith" popup comes click browse
Goto C/:windows/ and select explorer.exe and put a check in always use the selected program to open this kind of file.
This should work
__________
Also download registry fix from http://www.freeregistryfix.com/
And run a scan and fix them
