Use RAM to it's MAX

I have 1 GB of Dual channel RAM (2 * 512 MB RAM)

And I'm not that much of a Gamer. But do have a decent "Geforce 6800 GT"

Now I'm using Win XP Sp2... and would like to make my computer a lil more efficient.

Usually my RAM is empty like 600 MB or something... is there anyway i can use it, or tweak... to utilise and use my RAM to max.

You know some windows thing ? i can do for RAM

I think u can set the priorities of the processes going on in the Task manager to realtime instead of normal, that would do so I suppose. But why would u need to do it, the applications are getting enough of want they want!

Application will use all the RAM they can find & need. Don't worry about 600MB being free, it is normal

If you want your PC to do some work when its idle and use the Idle RAM,care to crunch for us ?

Hey thanks for all your inputs... and i did find that suggestion quite funny
lol.... "use VISTA... if you want to use all your RAM"

he he he... anyways i shall look into programs such as "SETI" and "WCG"

i mean... i end up sugin like 5 to 6 hours of computer... with just chatting...
at least my "core2duo" and all that wasted RAM will do something !!!

depends on what u want to do with it if u are clueless.. just do one thing enable file swapping to the ram not the hard disk ! that ways u can enjoy faster application response and yeah ur ram meter with show 30% increment in the utilization ...

make it a server for the winamp .. or may be a gaming rig will be fine

even i got a 1 gb ram but i found out the hard way trying to get greedy and trying to utilize the ram to the max does put a lot of wear and tear on the system. nearly a year back i used to run like 30 apps. *ahem* game *TOBS* for my friends..... then after a few weeks of this my pc crashed. this was done under lot of well maintained environment .
ther is nothing wrong in letting ur ram with some free Memory.
