windows vista home premium langugage updates?

Hi,

My friend has a Windows Vista home premium sony vaio laptop. While I was able to use the windows update feature to get this "optional updates" which has the options for installing custom language packs, (mine being windows vista ultimate), he is not getting the optional install configuration via windows updates. His version of vista home premium is in German. He prefers to have in English, like that of mine. Is it possible at all???

A language pack will not show up in Windows Updates if it is already installed.

MUI packs are only available in Vista Ultimate, not in Vista Home premium. Since Sony made his Laptop in German langauge, he cannot change. Tell him to call Sony support or go to a Sony service centre or the shop he bought it from to get the OS langauge changed. What he has is "Windows Vista home premium German edition".
