Internet is not working

My internet is not working after i installed Kaspersky 6 ( earlier i was using Mcafee 10 ). When i try to ping 192.168.1.1 or 202.56.215.6 , instead of displaying "pinging 202.56.215.6 with 32 bytes of data" it display

pinging oy with 32 bytes of data
Reply from 192.1.2.56: bytes=32 time<24ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.1.2.56: bytes=32 time<25ms TTL=64

that means the reply is coming from server but no applications like yahoo messenger,firefox,IE,Bittorrent
is working.

what is this oy. Is this due to some virus or spyware infection.Please suggest some solution.

It happened to me also some months ago but problem solved by removing some viruses & spywares..

Scan your windows for virus(with kaspersky) & spyware(with spybot search & destroy).

After installation have u did Full Computer Scan?

i also had this proble but with firewall. i just turned off the firewall and it became fine. why don't u try to disabling kaspersky and then open IE or mozilla or whatever u have.

Are you using EZ Antivirus by any chance or removed it ? Ez trust changes your winsock entries so that all queries pass through its own service.

You'll need Winsock LSP fix to restore your settings.
