*.FLV extension??? what is it???

Hi Everybody...
well i had recently saved a Video File from youtube onto my pc using this site... "http://downthisvideo.com/tag/dutt"
and here i pasted the link and said download...
it then asks me to click on a link and save the file.. and when i download this file.. on the download button it is said FLV file... well i tried downloading this file and renaming it into many other video formats.. like avi,mpeg...etc.. but i cannot preview these files.. can u'll plz help me with this flv format and if at all can i convert these flv format files to avi or mpeg.. etc..

its a Flash File. (google for it).

you can play these .flv file with VLC Media Player or use a Flash Video Converter to convert the flash file to other formats (.avi ; .mpg...)

use vlc to play flv... or u install the klite codec pack..

use media player classic after installing klite mega codec pack. It is a flash video file.
