Default Display not bright enough

Hello friends,
When i play video files in any player the display(Samsung 740 N LCD Monitor) is not bright enough, as if the entire movie has been shooted in dark. Also it is all red ( red value may be set to0 high). But otherwise it is good enough.
I m using NVIDIA 7300GS card. Tried changing settings in nvidia control panel but problem not solved.

Could you plz provide me with a solution ?

Thanks
