How does a novice learn flash authoring?

As a medical teacher, I wish to present to my students the concepts in flash animations. I have no knowledge in his. I may be considered a novice. Can anyone guide me on the expertise & software required for the same?

Just grab a copy of Adobe(earlier macromedia) Flash and become comfortable with the interface. There a few books too that you may consider. Although the help provided by Flash is enough to get you started. Heck, its the best book itself

Flash is similar to photoshop in case of layers.If u have photoshop knowledge it appears to be easy.Justt u need to know about frame by frame animation,creating button,action script,etc and very good in graphical drawing and imagination.

Dont know whether it will serve your purpose. still it is good for a novice.
