Please SPEED-UP my BOOT-UP
Can I speed up the boot-up process of my computer using any software? My computer boots into Windows XP in over 2 minutes, while this could seem normal but it sometimes boots in less than a minute and sometimes it even takes more than 2 & a half mins to boot into XP. It takes a lot of time to go from that Black screen that shows the Windows XP logo to the blue screen that displays Welcome. My PC runs on a 2.8Ghz P4 with 512 MB of DDR RAM and a Ge-Force FX 5200 with 256 MB of memory. I tried the Microsoft Bootvis utility and even defrag my HDD regularly with O & O degrag, but they all fail to optimize my boot process. Please Help.............Thanks!

Re: Please SPEED-UP my BOOT-UP
turn off the extra applications that u dont need
they consume memory at
startup infact service startup is typically the most time-consuming part of the boot process.
disk cleanup and defrag..
see here also http://www.pcguide.com/opt/opt/boot.htm
also u can use the Hibernate feature it is great.

Re: Please SPEED-UP my BOOT-UP
U need to some tricks.....
1)Remove any unnecessary programs and/or items from Windows Startup routine using the MSCONFIG utility. Here's how: First, click Start, click Run, type MSCONFIG, and click OK. Click the StartUp tab, then uncheck any items you don't want to start when Windows starts.

Re: Please SPEED-UP my BOOT-UP
In addition to my earlier suggestion u can add these:
1)use ntregopt free registry compactor.. sometimes large regitry files cause slow boot up.
2) iISystem Wiper a freeware feature rich system cleaner.
