Default Xp killing restore points in Vista under multiboot

any body facing problems with system restore in vista with multiboot....

problem:
after a restore point is created in vista (manualy or automatically),
when i reboot into vista directly there is no probs,,

however if i boot into xp first and then reboot into vista ,all restore points (automatic or manual) under vista are erased...i mean there are no restore points left..in vista..

is there a solution to this prob,,,anybody else having the same prob???

i am using windows xp home sp2 in one partition,, and vista ultimate in another...

maybe setting the Restore Points of XP & Vista to separate Partitons might help

e.g., set XP's restore point in C: drive, Vista's in D: Drive...

I found it on bertk.mvps.org

I have an earlier version of Windows on my computer, but when I switch between versions, my restore points disappear. Why?

In this version of Windows, restore points are created differently and are not recognized by earlier versions of Windows. If you have a dual-boot configuration and you start an earlier version of Windows, the earlier version will delete any restore points created by this version of Windows. If you start this version of Windows, restore points will resume being created automatically.

Restore points are deleted when they an over write action is performed. It seems that u have a FAT32 partition for both the OS try to reinstall them on two different partition NTFS and FAT 32.............and try the restore point then....

First see this-A restore point is DRIVE SENSITIVE... If your vista is on C drive, creating a restore point on G will not help you.I created the same and it said "system restore has been turned off" so it will work only on windows drive.
