Install XP & Vista on C:\ & D:\ No Problem. Use Norton Ghost 10 to backup these 2 drives to another partition. Restore as & when you like.

Re: MultiBoot VISTA & XP
Will I b able to install vista on a 9GB partition (on a 40GB HDD) or wil I need a 15GB+ partition (as suggested by Vista Upgrade Advisor)?
Can Vista b uninstalled without harming XP partition?

Re: MultiBoot VISTA & XP
U need at least 9 GB to install Vista so partition must b 15 GB to run it properly.
Yes u can remove Vista by formatting that partition & restoring MBR.

No. It depends on the contents of the partition.
I have Win 98 installed on drive C: with total space consuming 1.5 GB on a 5 GB partition. Its Ghost image is just 479 MB only.
Win XP is installed on drive D: consuming 2.7 GB space over 10 GB partition & its Ghost image is 1.2 GB in size.

Re: MultiBoot VISTA & XP
Ok, if I first install XP on C:, followed by this I install Vista on D:
Now if I reinstall Vista some day, I can boot into both XP as well as Vista.
However; if I have to reinstall XP, do I need to reinstall Vista again.

Re: MultiBoot VISTA & XP
Some chances r there, so u can face that prob but the chances r less. More u can do is, just reinstall XP & fix MBR using Vista DVD.

Yes, it is. But for that you'll need a separate boot partition for that.

Re: MultiBoot VISTA & XP
you'll need to create a small partition for grub. Then follow the procedure to install GRUB.
Just look into your existing grub menu config for syntax of adding Windows. You can duplicate that entry for both versions and change the hdd parittion number for relevant version of windows.
