pc don't start

i have p4 1.7 ghz,40 gb+80 gb hds,win xp pro sp1.40 gb hd is master and other is slave.pc don't start and hangs at window splash screen.it don't start even in safe mode and hangs at ntokernel.i tried to repair the installation but it hangs at starting window.i even tried to start with only basic hardware setup but couldn't get through.please help.

I think you will have to format the PC

Try this....

Enter the recovery console from windows XP bootable CD by pressing R when it prompts whether to install or repair windows for the first time...

In the console, try these commands...
>Fixboot
>Fixmbr
