Default Free Antivirus

Hi everyone,.

I have just installed Windows 2003 Server on my system and was looking for a good and Free antivirus solution for my system. I searched the forum, and could figure out AVG, Kaspersky and Trend Micro and Avast as the possible options.

I have used AVG on XP previously, never had any problem, but it cannot be installed on a server, so it stands eliminated.

Could anyone suggest me about the other options available (It should be free)?

Are you sure that AntiVir AV would work on Windows 2003 Server, because I checked while installing AVG and avast, they dont work on Server systems.
In fact, AVG refuses to be installed on the system.

Only Free Antivirus to officially 2003 server is VCatch Basic, but is an Ad Supported Version.
i think AntiVir PE (Free) does not work in Windows 2003, as it's name says AntiVir for 9X.
Another good AV for 2003 server is F-Prot Demo.

Try installing BitDefender 7 Free, let's see if it works or not. It's a good AV.
Get it in Jan Digit CD.

Thanks, but I am looking for a good and fool-proof solution like AVG and avast.

Can we expect some new release from these vendors which might support server systems, any idea?

Till then I am happy running fedora core3 8) !!!
