dear varun its not easy to make ur system a fort so what u need to do is act sensible i think u understand...put up a simple download manager like ..Free Download Manager. Put up a anti-virus.. update it always, install an anti-spyware assign its run at a fixed time. power up windows firewall (if u got xp)

last but not least do take regularly backups.. install some good tweakers for the system go for free one do a trial and run basis of the software.

u will see there is no reason to be soo much paranoid once u are regular with the steps and create a daily approach for the same ..

warm regards
Nixon

I think you should use Quick Heal Antivirus and Comodo Persnol Firewall. I am using it for more than 1yr but dowloading speed doesn't suffer. They both are light on system. They doesnot decrease your boot time. Cat Computer Services in India, which made this Antivirus software also has a good response time in time of outbreak alert. It has many features you can dowload its trial version from www.quickheal.com. It also has a unique feature which others didn't have i.e. it can store update files and if you reinstall Quick Heal then you can update it from the stored file. It also supprots weekly update. I have not been infected by any virus since I installed it. So I recommend u to use Quick Heal Antivirus + Comodo Firewall Pro. or Quick Heal + Zone Alarm Pro.

muhawhawha

my PC is a Fort

nothing(virus sh1t) can come in

what i use- Kaspersky Internet Security 6 & ZoneAlarm Pro (Firewall + AntiSpyware) & for browsing Opera (the safest browser)

KIS can detect allmost all trojans/virus on a website(if any) & ZAP blocks sh1t websites. & Opera notifies if some thing(trojan/virus) tries to download itself.

so my PC is pretty safe, with this Trio's i can browse any site no matter what crap(virus) they contain

Download this Win32.polip.a removal tool from BitDefender Security Solutions.

Install and run it. It will search for that particular virus and remove their traces.

Dear varunprabhakar, I have earlier recommended u Quick Heal + Zone Alarm Pro or Quick Heal +Comodo Firewall Pro and now also recommend u these. By mistake don't use Avast or AVG or BitDefender. This is becuase when I install Avast and AVG Antivirus and updated thier definitions then they are unable to clean up and not even detect the small Funlove.Corrupt.p virus (acc. to QuickHeal) which was made in 2003 or 2004. I dwnload thier latest versions and BitDefender because its updates are as long as 7 or 6 Mb downloaded by its update tool which even greater than NAV. So I highly recommend to use Quick Heal 9 becuase this version include AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and Firewall. Download 30 day trial version from www.quickheal.com.
