No audio input!

Plz help! I checked "Output digital and analog" under S/PDIF-Out In AC97 Audio Conf. program to record music playing on comp. itself.Since then I am unable to record audio from my mic.

S/PDIF-Out In AC97 has nothing to do with your Sound recording from the Computer. For sound card recording use any audio editor and while recording, select the source as StereoMix.
For recording from mic, select the source as Microphone.Double click on the volume icon in the system tray. From properties select Microphone. Now uncheck it while recording.

to select any input other than "stereo mix" or "spdif" you have to unselect "output digital and analog" option on spdif settings page. don't ask me why. "output digital only" will allow you to select mic input while keeping s/pdif digital sound output.
