I can do it using microsoft paint . but I am looking for a better software for this.

AFAIK, that can be done using adobe photoshop easily!

Try Irfanview. Download it from Irfanview from http://www.irfanview.com and open your image with it, choose Edit>> Add Text to Image and select the option, format you want. Besides being a handy and small editing tool Irfanview also is able to view almost all image formats.
