office assistant starting problem in office 2000

hi friends
well i am facing a problem with my office 2000.when i open my winword it gives error office assistant is unable to start.i reinstalled office assistant even then it gave the same messege.i also removed office 2000 and istalled office xp but the problem is still the same as it was in office 2000.so please kindly help me out from this problem i always be thankful to you all people
