Default Microsoft Outlook

Outlook Express doesn't open. They say MSOE.DLL COULDN'T LOAD.

in microsoft outlook, i get the following errors

the procedure entry point StrTokEx could not be located in the dynamic link library MSOERT2.DLL.

An error occured while attempting to open Windows Address Book. Unable to load WAB DLL.

I reinstalled Office 2000 and still got the same errors.

thanks a lot.

Cool Re: Microsoft Outlook

Two solutions:

First
  • Download a new copy of msoert2.dll here.
  • Goto %Windows%System32, backup ur old msoert2.dll & replace it with a newly downloaded one.

Second Solution
  • Goto Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components.
  • Uncheck the Outlook Express box, press Next & then press Finish
  • Now goto %ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express folder, & rename it to xyz or whatever u want.
  • Now open NotePad & type:
    Code:
    REGEDIT4

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express]

    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WAB]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}]

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{7790769C-0471-11d2-AF11-00C04FA35D02}]
& save this file as abc.reg
  • Right click the abc.reg & click Merge. Press Yes.
  • Now again goto Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components.
  • Check the Outlook Express box, press Next & then press Finish.
