I used nero to create a bootable cd to update my Laptop's BIOS.

What purpose you want to create a bootable CD for?

In Nero 6.6, bootable CDs can be made without any Floppy.
I have used it many times.

Contrary to what is mentioned above, YOU DO NOT NEED A BOOT FLOPPY TO MAKE A BOOTABLE CD.
All you have to do is
1. Go to http://www.bootdisk.com
2. Select the boot disk you want and make sure to download the image (img) format
3. Open Nero Burning Rom, in that click on boot disk, and in the first tab browse to the place you have stored the boot img you just downloaded
4. click new
5. You will now get a file browser in which you can drag and drop whatever file you want
6. Burn baby burn

1. If u already hav a bootable CD and if u want to create another copy of it then u can do this by using nero
first copy the image of the original CD by using the option " Copy CD "
then u insert new CD and burn it using option "burn image to disk" by browsing the above image file

2. IF u want to create ur own bootable disk by integrating some more options, see the following thread

Creating Win XP bootable CD

If you don't have Nero you can use a free software called CD Burner XP Pro which is a free software and has the ability to make bootable CD from boot images. The images can be downloaded from internet and will depend on what you are making the bootable CD of.

CDBurnerXP Pro - http://www.cdburnerxp.se/download.php

well if u want to make a bootable CD then simply making a bootable CD in Nero through option of "Make a Bootable CD " is useless because it make CD bootable in DR.DOS not the real one required. So first of all u should get boot file of XP from some other CD which is bootable or from net, then u can write it through Nero7 which have option for selecting boot file or copy it to a floppy n then write CD through other versions of Nero too.OR the best way is CD Burner XP Pro as told previously...
