Default sound recording software


Hi guys,

I am interested in recording the professor's lecture in the class instead of taking notes coz i totally suck at it. can you guys please recommend me a very good software which can do it.

if you have a mp3 player you can use it, it will be better than the phones. i personally however use my SE K750i to record the classes. the quality is ok kinds. This is because my teacher uses microphone and loudspeaker. but sometimes i do not understand what is he talking. SE uses compression to restrict the size of the file. Mp3 players will record in Wav format which is not compressed.

t610 from transcend will be a good choice.

i have purchased the latest (5g i guess???) iPod. i also browsed thro net to find that it is capable of recording but it requires some softwares( that too for earlier generations). does any1 hav any dea about the newest version of iPod?
