You might find some softwares on download.com that claim to boost the network connectivity by altering some registry settings based on type of connection like broadband / dialup etc!
Instead of using dial up, go for broadband, eventually it may turn out to be a cheaper & better option, especially if your dial-up was not stable. i.e. not getting good speed, modem hang-ups & disconnects etc. |

Do some tweaks using tweak xp pro/system mechanic pro. Use Opera for browsing as it has good cache management system and speed... You can just only optimise what you get and cant imagine to get 10KBps-15KBps on 56kbps modem connection...
