Re: download managers
All d/l managers are equal, the difference is in the features they provide!
But I'll suggest u to leave DAP and go for Flashget/IDM/FDM

Re: download managers
Well, I don't use any d/l manager but use Opera & Mozilla for d/l.
Any d/l managers I have tried, can d/l @ 32 KBps on my 256 Kbps connection & Opera & Mozilla can do that also. So I don't use any other s/w for that.

Same here to.
Why install another app. & waste Memory/resources when the browser itself can do that.
Opera has a good in-built Download manager, performing "Pause, Resume, Restart..." functions.
there's no d/l speed difference, if i'm downloading something, it usually d/l @ 30-32KBps.
All this ^^ applies if you're using Opera 9 / mozzila (though i havent used the later)

Re: download managers
DAP is good enough but Flashget may be better i used to stick with DAP.. still i dont see dap as a bad performer but i liked Flashget over DAP... reason was Flashget alocates the memory before i starts the download.. so no fear that u may run out of space where as DAP just keep filling up as the download prograses.. so with a 4Gb file suppose at the 3.9 GB u found out u have run out of space... ??

I think u r talking about compressed files from RS etc. Not only Opera but other d/l managers r also unable to provide the resume feature for free d/l from RS.

No....It is true.... I also having such problem....It starts from the first....and I am not talking about RS downloads.
I use only FlashGet....It's easy for me.
DAP is Eyecandy though.

Strange! I never faced such prob even if I have d/l many compressed files & many times I have to pause them for at least 18 hrs. (since I was using dialup conn. that time).
