Default Where is the Folder option?

Hello friends,
I see a serious problem in some of my friends' system. They all are using windows xp with service pack 2. They are not getting the folder option icon in control pannel. When try to click on tools in the my computer menu, there is not also the folder option. Why this problem persists an how to recover that.
I am waition for your answers and suggestions. Thank you.

Well dude I was too facing the same problem after I recovered from a Trojen.

How to hide folder in windows XP without using folder guard

your problem seems to be similar like discussed in above thread.....
see the above link to solve ur problem

plzz notify me whether u can resolve it or not

try this :
open regedit.
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
set the dword "NoFolderOptions" to 0

hope it helps. if it doznt see if there is a registry fix here

Try this...Go to START, RUN, and type CONTROL FOLDERS click on Ok. See if it bring it up for you ....

Well dude tweaks can fix the prob so need to do this again and again

do one thing...
start->run->gpedit.msc

navigate to userconfiguration->administrative templates->windows components->windows explorer

disable the option Removes the folder option menu item from tools menu

this one can ensure you that ur folder options menu item 'll appear even if the trojan or worm attack changes the registry key..

thats WORM_RONTOKBR.AC find removal info in internet.you will find it in pccillin virus database they hav given removal info
