Hey! AVG is not efficient against Trojans! I was using it before. I installed avast! now. During scan, many Trojans were found! AVG has got one more big bug. During a full scan, if it comes across any corrupted file, it stops at that point and says 'Scan Complete!'. This is a major flaw. It becomes easy for hackers. Just use a corrupted file and inject a virus!

use avg 7.5 beta all these problems are solved
it even scans for spyware

If you have a free full functional avast!, then why should one go for a beta version? avast! is much better than AVG in detection rates. It's VRBD is simply great. On-Access scanner is very strong which includes Network shield and Web shield too. Regarding AVG's Spware scanning abilities, I am not sure how efficient it is. I would still consider a full fledge spware software like Counter Spy or Windows Defender than taking risk with combined version AVG 7.5 which you are recommending.

im not talking only abt avg free(antivirus) ,im talkin abt grisoft's avg 7.5 internet security suite
avg 7.5 has been released officially
its no more a beta & it is a complete product
grisoft has bought ewido therefore it is usin ewido's expertise in its
anti-spyware & it is very good
so now it can be bought
i liked the beta though

@ssk429: I really don't trust the reviews made by websites. There is a lot of variation in review reports of various websites. It is left for individuals to decide which is best for them. Think digit forum is the best way to discuss.

Pros: Powerfull. Advanced blood hound detection. Easily available. available as an entire suite.
Cons: Resource gulper, large infrequent updates.

Cons: thinks it knows more than you. More bossy than your boss.

Pros: Decent with resources. Frequent updates. FREE!
Cons: Gaudy interface.

4>Zone alarm
Pros: comes bundled with probably the best firewall and a good antispyware.
Cons: irregular updates, somehow dosnt feel safe.

Pc-cilin
Use really an old version a long time ago so would be unfair to review it.
