Default boot from cd problem+reboot problem


sometimes my system automatically gets hang and then reboots automatically
and another problem is that when i try to install windows xp through boot frm cd optn then after the 1st stage i.e. "checking yr hw config.." the becomes completely black and remains like that.so basically not able to install frm cd.


ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!1

1. Check for viruses/spyware.
2. Check for loose connections within motherboard.
3. Check cpu temperature, check for overheat issues.
4. Clean your PC if you havent. (j/k )

As for the cd problem, the cd or optical drive lens may have problems, or it may be a hard disk error. Check for all of these, especially check for loose connections. Call the computer d00d if you're on warranty.

There is one genre of virus called boot virus which can do the symptoms u have mentioned . Try formatting the drive with some other OS like 2000 , 98 etc., and yes ofcourse as Anand_RF suggested , do his checklist.
