Default Trouble with media files.

Please help with multimedia files. When I try to open any file on my PC in Realplayer of Windows Media Player or any other player except VLM, I get a Windows Explorer error and the desktop gets refreshed. What do I do? Please help me.

Whenever I try to open any movie file with either WMP or Realplayer or Quicktime or Google Player, the error shown is "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience" The name of the application is explorer.exe , ntdll.dll, kernel32.dll, msvcrt.dll and so on. This happens only with movie files which I download onto this PC. When I try to play from some other source like a DVD or CD directly, there is no problem. But the moment I save this file on my PC, the problem starts.
