i have a 64kbps brodband connection it is a cable internet connection.i just have a lancard. and i use limewire to dwnlod stuff. since the speed is low i start the dwnlod and switch off the monitor. after some time(like 1hr) when i switch on the monitor and go to limewire then it says "Waking connection" so was it sleeping all that time!!! i checked my power saving settings i have turned all of them to never(monitor/hdd/standby).i also went to lancard's properties>configure>power management and there i unchecked the option "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".but i still get the "waking connection" message in limewire.the message appears on the bottom left hand side where the connection status is shown(disconected/poor connecton/turbo char.....). Regarding your problem, after you leave your PC unattended it might be possible that your net connection which I assume as dial up disconnects, or atleast weakens, and limewire contineously tries to reconnect. So when you get back to your machine it says "Waking connection". So only solution is to upgrade to broadband, coz u see 64 kbps is not for P2P/torrent downloads. |

When limewire "sleeps", all it does is not take part in the Gnutella network. The Downloads that you are doing continue. Do something, while dling, go to file>disconnect, you'll see that the downloads still continue but you cannot search.

"waking" in limewire dosnt have anything to do with power/standby settings. it means it is just starting the connection to the guntrella network. it is indicative of the connection speed and strength.
