Re: Best Antivirus
Oops! Is there something called a best AntiVirus? No, i don't think so! Hundreds of Viruses are born in Cyberspace each week, and you think any AntiVirus product can challenge this pace? NO!
Whatever, somethingis better than nothing. There are some great products out there, both Proprietary (like Norton and McAffee) and Free ones (like Avast)! All are equally good.
But what keeps getting good each day are Viruses

Re: Best Antivirus
BitDefender 9 Professional Plus. Period.
This, however, is the full suite consisting of the Firewall, AntiVirus, AntiSpyware and AntiSpam. If you want only the AntiVirus, use BitDefender 9 Standard.

BTW, you need a Firewall for 'protection over internet' and ZoneAlarm is the best in the arena.

Re: Best Antivirus
Hi,
I think Avast Antivirus is best for it.
Whatever, somethingis better than nothing. There are some great products out there, both Proprietary (like Norton and McAffee)
All are equally good.

Re: Best Antivirus
Go for Norton 2006. It's the best. Also it's price has come down. It's affordable too.
Use ZoneAlarm with Norton 2006 antivirus for best protection against trojans,
worms, viruses, spyware etc.,

...and a crawling PC! It is the most resource hungry antivirus application out there after Aluria Security Center and Panda Platinum 2006 Internet Security and will (theoritically) have a thirteen percent drag on your system. However, it will be more than fifty percent in practice, let me assure you.

Re: Best Antivirus
why would some1 buy quickheal?
If ur a home user the i think Avast, AVG, or Antivir(all freeware) should be more than enough.
If u wanna spend some green then buy KAV its the best out there.

Re: Best Antivirus
Hmm.. This thread is really gettin crowded with all antivirus software names..... CT Squad, the beginner of the thread hasnt replied either....
There is nothing as THE BEST ANTI VIRUS SOFTWARE.... Some are efficient than others in certain ways... Guess this is the topic which goes on and on , round and round......
Anyway... as for a reply,,
Quickheal
KAV
Norton
McAffee
Avast
BitDefender
Trendmicro
avg
Zone alarm Suite
Nod32
If u are a home user, go for a free* AVS like avg, avast etc, ... it will do ok..
if not Norton, kav, Nod32 and others will be better....
Norton is heavily resource hungry as all knows... its not advisable for an average build...
kav and nod32 are ok... But...
Nod32 is opt for anyline as it has a decent discovery rate + light weight on systems...
Kav is ok too, but i opt Nod32 better
Zone alarm suite with antivirus is...ok..but guys.,..zone alarm is primarily a firewall na... it has just opted to cme with an inbuild antivirus.. so.. Zone alarm is ONE of the better ones in Firewalls... but not so in avs...
So... if u are an pro user, go for a Nod32+zone alarm pro combination .. it will suit u well

ZoneAlarm is Antivirus+AntiSpyware+Firewall
ZA security suite is a good solution.

Re: Best Antivirus
Search my dear friend... There are so many threads already dedicated to this topic... Anyways, use Kaspersky Antivirus for best protection... But mind you, it is a bit resource hungry but not as much as Nortons...
