Default Dual OS Problem

I've "Intel865" with "P-4 HT" and "384 RAM" along with Broad Band connection. I've Dual OS (Win98 on C: & WinXP Pro on D: ). Now I don't want to use Win98, but as it is on Primary partition, whenever I format it the WinXP fails to load as it is on secondary partition. How can I format Win98 without losing the existing installed WinXP? I also 've the Ghost Backup (Symantec Ghost) of both the partions.

Well it seems that C: is ur MBR.....to remove 98 u can do 2 things.....

1>Format both the drives and install XP...

2>Just delete win98..delete only 'Windows' 'My Documents' 'Prgramfiles'
'Page file'

Do not delete the MBR files..

Now boot from the XP cd and enter the recovery console and run fixboot...
