Default problem with installing new os

i recently made a new partition using partition magic in order to install windows 98 SE. my present os is xp. also used boot magic to give me the menu option. after installation it loads only win 98. i cannot access the xp partition even after activating it using fdisk (on boot floppy). win 98 also cannot access my xp partitions. how do i get xp to work again? also bootmagic screen does not show up anymore.
