Software for editing DivX files
Any software that will let me remove certain parts of a DivX file without having to encode to another format?

You can try VirtualDub. Probably the easiest and best thing available.

But the DivX Codec also need to be installed on the machine.

Are you sure we can edit files with virtual dub?? I thought it only converts and transcodes files..

Yes VirtualDub can edit files and if you can grab hold of virtualdubmp3 which is an old version of VirtualDub then you will be in luck. It is much better then these version you get today
