Direct X 9.0C ....Problemo!

I have XPSP2 installed and tried installing NFS Most Wanted and a couple of other games too . They simply wont run.....stating that Direct X9.0C is not installed.

I tried installing from the Microsoft website as well as from the Game CDs....but the moment I press install...the 'INSTALLATION COMPLETE' box pops up. However, when I cheked DXDIAG ....the Version is still 9.0b.

ON clicking FILES Tab. in DXDIAG , it shows :

The file Quasf.dll is an older version and hence might cause problems.PLease install Direct X again to solve this issue.

I have installed XP thrice and again tried installing DX9.0C, but to no avail.I even looked up and updated all Visual and Graphic card Drivers .But DirectX9.0b wont simple upgrade to Ver9.0C .

HEEEELP ? I am dying to play NFS MW.

Well, there was a similar problem some days ago.

Maybe you can try uninstalling with this tool:
Direct X Happy Uninstall

Then again, try reinstalling direct-x from the setup file you obtained.

I did download the Happy Uninstall....but it requires a Regitered Ver. to roll back the DX9.0b Ver. ....searched fer crack too...but couldnt find one .

I guess I'll just install from another XP Ver.CD.
