Default Unmountable Boot Volume

Hi, I'm a new user to the Forum.
I have a Win 2000 Installed on my PC. I want to Install "Win XP Home Edition SP 2". I've tried various options like upgrade and new install. Things are allright till the PC reboots and comes to the "install raid device" and after that I think the PC does a hardware scan where upon the blue error sceen appears with the message "Unmountable Boot Volume".
In the same page it aslo says the regular message "if this is the first time you are seeing this message, reboot ........ contact your software provider for more help".
How do I get around this?

Take out all your PCI and AGP Cards from your motherboard Then Try Again then you will not get that blue screen may be some hardware is incompatible with sp2 version of windows xp so try to install windows xp without sp2 first then install BSOD patch from microsoft update site then install sp2
