window problem

My window has started some problems. When ever i start any program it gives message " Program has performed illegal operation". I than reinstalled the program but after restarting pc the same message apperead on starting again. I have scanned the pc but there is no virus.

PLease suggest the solution.

reinstall windows this is the best possible solution...
and pls mention ur operating system
i consider it to be win98
do this thing
open system information form
start>accessories>system tool>
here u will find tools menu from this menu run "SYSTEM FILE CHECKER" scan and repair corrupt files. this might help u
reinstalling windows is the last option
actually i would recommend a fresh install instead of reinstalling
...
also if u r using win xp
run sfc from the command prompt
