Default Dr. Divx Settings....need help....


Hi to all,

I need to convert the .dat (Movie files) to .avi using Dr. Divx.

So i need some suggestion...i searched through the forum but did not got the req info...

generally a movie contains 2 cds (.dat)

i need to compress this to avi so that i can fit to a single cd with a good quality video.

1. What shold be the setting for Dr Divx.
2. Which Compressing Codec should i use.
3. wht should be the birate ....and so on...all the technicall settings...

Is there anybody using Dr Divx in this forum who can guide me..

Also i what to convert the movie DVD to a single Avi file of about 700MB

Please guide me... Thanks..

Now a buddy of mine is a huge compression nut, so I can't stand up to his level of knowledge, but straight up I can tell you something. Try to use VirtualDUB [http://www.virtualdub.org] instead of Dr. DivX. I agree that the good doctor is a much better option if you're just starting out, but VD offers you levels of tweaking DD can't even dream of. As far as a tutorial goes, this one should work just fine: [http://download.divx.com/guides/QuickStart-EN.pdf] The best part of it is, that VirtualDUB's free and supports a host of community plugins.

You'll also find the right steps to follow to merge two video files to make a single one.
