about dvd encoding

i dont have dvd-rom... i got a dvd movie. and then i had encode the copy to avi format.. it worked but only just 27mins movie was encoded... can any body tell me how can i encode whole movies , its of .99GB...

any other software for encoding this?

USe Ulead or Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite or Adobe Encore.

if u dun have a dv d rom how did u access the dvd to encode it in the first place ?
im a lil confused could u plz be a lil more clear
