Default Slow surfing

Well, recently my AVG detected two archives containing a virus in the folder
C:\Documents And settings\xyz\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi.....
It deleted those two archives but since then, my browsing speeds are really dead. Some pages open as quickly as before while some take ages and some even do not open.
Is it related to the above thing or just a coincidence?
It happens with both firefox & IE. I have 256kb/s & my download speeds are same as before.

Well, but there shouldn't be a problem with java plugin as the virus was located in the cache folder.
