Any suggestions where to go with this?

have faced a strange trouble..
i am using amd athlon xp2000
and win 98se.
due to some problem faced after i installed a freeware DJ softare for sound effects, i unsinstalled that software and i reinstalled the OS and after that Win media player started to malfunction in such a way that when any file is played the playing rate is fast and sound follows the video playback and is garbled and follows ups and downs.
i tried checking any conflicts in device manager , but none..found.
one more problem associated is this that when the fast playing file in media player is paused, and replayed, system hangs and had to be rebooted ...
.. however no problem is seen in playing audio mp3 files in winamp.
but video playing is absolutely failing
i run system information tool AND GOT FOLLOWING INFORMATION,

i myself not able to decode fully what deficiency it indicates, may be any one of you more experianced can help me....please have a look.

a similar kind of problem was asked in a previous issue of digit. The answer from there was, it happens so if you install sound drivers before installing the graphics drivers. If u made a similar kind of mistake, uninstall both graphic and sound drivers and then reinstall them. This time install the graphics driver first and then install the sound drivers. Hope this solves your problem.

BTW, what error does it show when video playback fails.

try playin them in different mediaplayer

if the prob continues

uninstall all the drivers and reinstall them ,
before that check ur directX once
to do that, go to run and type dxdiag
make sure all tests are cleared

if not install the latest directX 9.0c

that should solve the problem !!!

the problem as i stated is that VIDEO Files play AT FAST Frame RATE and it Appears MORE a FF mode playing...in all media players including VCD CUTTER, and WHEN it plays,....IT plays SOUND in FAST mode also.
IN SHORT SOUND is also GARBLED.
and when any playing file is PAUSED, and then RESUMED, the media player Hangs the SYSTEM, and PC had to RESTARTED...
any way ...i am going to try the suggestion , of uninstalling the sound and video drivers and install them in ORDER as reccomended.
BTW can anybody tell me what does those DRIVERS NOT INSTALED MESSAGES mean in SYSTEM Info?
