Default (How do I) make Firefox remember text size settings

Recently after migrating to a TFT with 1280x1024 resolution I often increase text size in FireFox with CTRL+Mouse wheel. How can I make FF remember these settings over different sessions and new pages? IE6 has no problem remembering text size.

Just increase the default font size from Options

Messes up some webpages.

Edit: And, this isn't a solution for webpages that do not respect the browsers default font setting. Tried increasing default font size all the way to 26 but found absolutely no effect on this forums index page.
