Default how to see whats inside ur index.dat file.

most of us know what the index.dat file is.
in winxp, in is situated in
C:\Documents and Settings\ACK\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Index.dat are files hidden on your computer that contain all of the
Web sites that you have ever visited. Every URL, and every Web page
is listed there. Not only that but all of the email that has been
sent or received through Outlook or Outlook Express is also being
logged.

its removal is difficult. to protect ur privacy, u may wish to remove
it. manual removal procedure is tedious, but it can, inter alia, be
found here : http://www.smartprotector.com/eraser/deleteindex.htm

else u can always use good pc cleaners like 'ccleaner' to remove them.

what is inside them ? curiousity led me to make a search, and i came
across this intesesting small 60kb download INDEX.DAT SCANNER v 1.0 from
http://www.extramile.ro/

do check it out, its quite a revealing experience ! 8)
